The American Society for Testing and Materials consists of 30,000 members from over 100 different nations that create standards used around the world for everything from product development and design to accessing markets.


The National Floor Safety Institute is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to aid in the prevention of slips, trips, and falls through education, research, and standards development. They perform an independent evaluation of slip resistance on floor mats, coatings, cleaning agents, etc., and provide information to end-users to aid in their purchasing decisions. In order to become NFSI certified, proposed products must pass comprehensive laboratory and field testing.


The Occupational Safety and Health Administration aims to ensure employee safety and health in the United States by working with employers and employees to create a better work environment.
